Len Steckler spent the better part of five decades creating works of art. Born and raised in Brooklyn,
New York, Steckler observed the world around him in images, which he began drawing when he was just five
years old. Now for the first time, some of his most enduring work is being offered to the public in the form
of a beautifully bound book titled:
"Len Steckler - A Life In Art"
World renowned Art Critic, Robert Levy recently described Mr. Steckler's work this way:
"Looking at Len Steckler's artwork is a bit like watching a train wreck, but averting your gaze is not an option.
There is a sense of urgency and apprehension at what might be experienced or realized, and one cannot help but stare in awe.
Steckler could have charmed us with colors and forms to please the senses, come hither nudes, splashy abstracts,
heartwarming story-telling pictures, but he doesn't, and won't.
Instead we get the socially disenfranchised, the sexually challenged, and the pathological portrait.
Unlike others who communicate through their art, Mr. Steckler uses stealth and cunning rather than smoke and mirrors, to make his point.
He causes us to lower our guard and draws us in. We become curious, who is that? what is that? what are they doing?
Suddenly the train derails and we gasp for breath, not knowing how steep the embankment or how wide the abyss."
