"We must never forget that art is not a form of propaganda; it is a form of truth" - John F. Kennedy (1963)
In our society today, we are fed a cultural landscape overflowing with the branded, the packaged, and the dumbed-down. Stuff is shoved down our throats at such a rapid pace, that we cannot even focus, so we scan everything.
In his MEDIA series, Len Steckler tries to examine the effect of this omnipresent barrage of visual material on our spirit. What are we actually able to dissect out of the morass?
He is seeking to bring some form to this chaos, and he asks the viewer to stop and ponder. Steckler wants us to realize that we are capable of recognizing beauty, truth, and honor.
